對於常用Medline的讀者可能心中會有個疑問，究竟Pubmedline與Ovid Medline在檢索結果上是否會有不同，雖然我們曾經簡單的比較過兩者的差異但仍無法解答讀者心中的疑惑，以下我們就收錄範圍、檢索功能、連結功能上更深入的說明
收錄範圍
- 在Pubmedline網站上是收錄了NCBI所提供的25個資料庫檢索，而Pubmedline所收錄的資料是除了生物醫學之外也包括所收錄期刊文章中提及板塊構造或天體物理學有關資料，這也說明了被Medline所收錄的期刊，並不是每一篇都會被Medline收錄
- 出版社對於已決定刊登但尚未決定刊登於何那一卷期的資料會先放在PubMedline上，但在Ovid Medline上可能找不到這些資料
- 有些書目資料來自於出版社提供的電子檔，這些資料在日後有些會成為進入Medline資料庫，有些則不會，沒有進入Medline資料庫的在Pubmedline中會呈現[PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
- 在PubMed的書目資料中有[PubMed - in process]，這代表這些書目資料NLM尚未給與醫學標題，仍在處理中。在Ovid Medline檢索時這些書目資料則與已收錄在Medline的資料分開
檢索功能
- Ovid Medlie在title欄位檢索上對於片語的比對是採word by word ，而PubMed則採word and word，這會造成檢索結果不同
- related articles/similar articles的算法上也不同，在PubMedline上會去計算詞彙在title、abstracts及MESH出現的權植。Ovid Medline則計算詞彙在title出現的權值
連結功能
- Ovid Medline在連結全文電子期刊方面是以學校所訂購及網路上所提供免費電子期刊
- PubMed的連結來自於出版社自願提供連結，這些資料未必學校有訂購，所以在使用時就可能出現需要帳號及密碼畫面
Gale encyclopedia of e-commerce

內容：分兩冊470篇文章，文章內容包含以下主題，兩冊書組織方式是依字母順排，書後有文中所提內容之字母順索引，文章後附有延伸閱讀，若延深閱讀文獻來自網路會附有網址，第一冊有電腦與網路發展重要年表，內容雖以英文寫成但淺顯易懂。就目前圖書館館藏來說是全面性了解e-commerce的基礎書

內容：共分5冊94篇文章，編排方式依文章每篇文章題名的字母順排，內容從optics的最初發展到最新趨勢及在其它領域的應用都有提及，每篇文章有提供詞彙、參考書目及延伸閱讀。

圖書館為了提供更好的查詢服務，於年初對於自動化系統進行了轉換，轉換後的系統提供了以下不同於以往的服務
一、更明確的資料查詢
為符合讀者對特定資料查詢的需求，將博碩士論文、課程指定用書的查詢獨立出來，讀者若只是要查詢這兩部份的資料，可以利用這兩個查詢點查詢，減少過濾非相關資料的困擾。
二、查詢功能
1.一般關鍵字查詢：涵蓋欄位有書名(叢書)、作者、出版社、主題，可以避免選擇欄位困擾
2.著者關鍵字檢索：讓讀者可以鍵入作者部份名字進入檢索，例如「達夫」，可查詢館藏中作者名字有達夫的作品，例如張達夫、郁達夫、黃達夫等
3.著者字順檢索：利用此欄位檢索時就是要連作者的姓氏也鍵入，與著者關鍵字檢索最大的差別在於利用這個方式檢索可以了解在圖書館內收了該作者的作品共有幾本
4.博碩士論文檢索：以檢索本校博碩士論文為主，檢索的範圍包括研究生、論文名稱、指導教授
5."and " 與 "& "並無法通用，檢索兩個以上觀念，最好用"and" 或 "* "或空格
6.不限定特定資料，只想找某一類型或某一語文的資料：可以利用進階或多項輔助一般關鍵字輸入"*"，再利用其他限制條件,如要查圖書館進了那些2005的書，可利用一般關鍵字輸入*，再限制語文或出版年
二、限制功能
1.限制檢索的功能只會出現在有關鍵字的欄位
2.關於限制的功能：目前系統提供了依館別(林口、長庚大學)、資料類型(視聽資料、期刊)、語文(中、德、英、日)的限制
例如：要找長庚大學訂了那些Cell系列的期刊，可利用進階或多項輔助檢索出版社cell press, 再限制期刊-長庚大學
